Sorry and Chi

Sorry I haven't been posting! I've been sick and traveling and I really do and will try to post!

Today's review is is my Ultra Chi flat iron. I've owned my flat iron for about...eh...a few years now (got it for my 12th bday aka Feb 16 2010.). It's a very pretty blue, I don't know what temp it gets up to though, since it only has one temp and only one button/switch for on/off. It also came with a handy thermal mat so I could put it down when I'm not using it, but it's still on. I think it was $75 (it was also on sale ;) ), and it's still in pretty good condition. I would probably give it 4 stars. I love it, BUT, my hairstylist (who's a good friend, and probably knows a lot about hair things) can get it WAY straighter and smooth, and it's because her flat iron can get up WAY higher than mine (about 500 f). Also, whenever you are dealing with heat, it's a good idea to have a protectant (or whatever you call it). I use 44 iron guard (also by Chi). Either that that, I pretty much love my Chi. I'm not really a big girly girl (I am a little), but I have really curly hair for it's nice to take a shower in the morning, let it dry, that night flat iron it, then keep it till 2 days later. It's so easy to take care of straight hair! Another complaint (but it's not Chi's fault), is I can't see the back of my head that well (then again, who can!), so after I'm done, I have my mom go through the back a few times just to get anything that I've missed. I admit I like my mom doing it, because she gets EVERYTHING and takes her time, unlike me. A few tips and hints- if you have one (a chi flat iron) very similar to mine, you can't curl your hair (like wrap it around it, sorry), BUT, if after you've done your whole head, you take a piece of your hair, flat iron it, but pull on it tightly and squeeze it hard, and you should get a little curl on the bottom (or at least that's my experience). Also do your hair in small sections and go over it a few times before moving on - also get some clips to hold up the hair you are not flat ironing. Last but not least, if you havn't brushed your hair in a few days, that's ok! Start by separating a picec of your hair from the rest, go over it a few times with the iron, THEN brush it, then go over it with the iron again. It helps!

Hope you enjoyed!
